Boy Scouts...
Hiking, camping, and the outdoors is without a doubt my favorite activity. Being in nature, surrounded by nothing but trees, lakes, and the big open sky is a truly calming and fun experience. I remember when I was a child I was involved in the Boy Scouts. We would go on overnight hikes to local lakes, pitching our tents by the shores. We would tell ghost stories and roast marshmallows by the fire. The best feeling, though, was staring up at the the stars at night. You can see stars out the woods that you could never see with the glaring lights of the city. When you’re hiking and camping you get to leave all of your problems back in the city behind. The worst problem you’ll have in the woods is an encounter with the occasional deer, or maybe a bear! Of course, that’s unlikely, and even if you do see one, you’ll have a great story for your friends back home. Yes, out in the woods you’re just one with nature. It truly is the best recreational activity.
